Jill A. Mixer, DVM

Dr. Jill Mixer was born in Tulsa, OK and moved to Oklahoma City as a young girl. She attended John Marshall High School and was active in 4-H, showing horses, playing on her high school tennis team and working at Britton Road Veterinary Hospital, even through college. She attended Oklahoma State University graduating from veterinary school in 1985 and moved to New Hampshire for 3 years to practice at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH. After spending the winter of 1987 at Gulfstream Park in Miami, FL, she moved back to OK in 1988 with her twin sons, Duke and Ryan and started her own practice at Remington Park when it opened in 1988. Her primary interests are lameness in racehorses and performance horses. She has another child, Sara, who also works at Waterloo Animal Hospital, which was opened in February of 2016. Her hobbies include spending time with family, reading, traveling, and being on the farm with her horses, particularly the foals. (Source)
