John R. Elliott, DVM

Dr Elliott’s passion for animals began with his childhood farming roots in south Georgia. In 1995 Dr Elliott earned a BS in Business Administration from Valdosta State University. After graduation he and his wife J’Dawn relocated to her hometown in Helena, Montana where he worked as a transportation and wheat broker. Leaving Montana with its natural beauty and outdoor activities was a difficult decision but Dr Elliott returned to Georgia to pursue his true passion in veterinary medicine. In 2005 he earned his DVM at the University of Georgia. Upon graduation Dr Elliott worked as an associate in Greeneville, Tennessee at an equine referral practice. In 2008 Dr Elliott returned to Georgia to accept a position at Horner and Nash Equine in Alpharetta, Georgia. In 2010 he joined long time friend and classmate, Dr Pike, to form a partnership in Piedmont Equine Associates. Dr Elliott finds all areas of equine medicine fascinating but has special interest in dentistry, reproduction, lameness, and surgery.
