About John Zimmerman
John Zimmerman was born in Oconomowoc, WI where he developed a passion for horses from a young age. He attended the University of Wisconsin- River Falls where he began working for NRHA professional Brian Wellman. John worked for Brian for 4 years as his assistant trainer. While working for Brian, John earned numerous NCRHA(North Central Reining Horse Association) titles and awards.
John then went on to work for another NRHA professional, Scott McCutcheon in Whitesboro, TX. There he continued to do well in the show pen becoming a limited open finalist at the NRBC. John continued to learn all the ins and outs of the reining world while in Texas and compete with the best reining professionals in the country.
After leaving Texas; John then moved to Rogersville, MO where he trained for Vaughn & Justin Zimmerman at Zimmerman Performance Horses for three years. While in Missouri, John perfected his ability for preparing young horses for the two year old prospect sale at the NRHA Futurity.
John, along with his wife Lacy, are now living in Holmen, WI. John is training out of the Wild Winds Ranch; owned by Peggy Lovejoy and Dan Kind; located in West Salem, WI. We are thrilled to be building our business out of such a fantastic facility back in our home state of Wisconsin. (Source)
