Kara Wilson, DVM

Kara Wilson is originally from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and earned her bachelor’s degree at Dalhousie University prior to completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2017. She then completed an intensive internship in equine medicine and surgery at the Vermont Large Animal Clinic. Growing up riding and competing with her horse Kolumb, she gravitated towards equine sports medicine. Her areas of interest include equine and small animal ophthalmology, dermatology and dentistry. Recently, Kara took additional training in small animal dentistry through the Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and is excited to be offering in-depth dental care.

Outside of work, Kara enjoys horseback riding, kayaking, yoga and hiking with her beagle Valentino and German Shepherd mix Belle. Fun fact – Kara loves dinosaurs! Ifhadn’tadn’t gone into veterinary medicine, she likely would have pursued a career in paleontology. (Source)
