Karl Derek Wessinger, DVM

Dr. Derek Wessinger grew up in Clinton, South Carolina. He received his B.S. degree form Presbyterian College. While a student there he played football for the Blue Hose, and has been a lifelong supporter of his alma mater. Dr. Wessinger came to Cleveland Park after his graduation from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. For the past 36 years Dr. Wessinger has traveled thousands of miles caring for large animals all over Greenville County. His dedication to Large Animal Medicine has earned him the esteem of clients near and far. Now Dr. Wessinger’s focus has changed to small animals. He welcomes the opportunity to daily visit with clients and friends who now drive to bring their small animals to see him.

Dr. Wessinger is an avid outdoorsrman who loves living the quiet life on the shores of Stoddard Mill Lake with his wife, Jean. He shares a passion for horses with his daughters who love to ride, and he loves long walks in the woods accompanied by his own much loved dogs. He and his wife are actively involved in the life of their church. His favorite pastime is spending time with his four daughters and his grandchildren. (Source)
