Karmen Couret, DVM

Was born in New York City in 1966. She grew up in midtown Manhattan and graduated from Hunter College High School in 1984. She stayed in New York to do her undergraduate work at Columbia College of Columbia University, majoring in biology and German literature, graduating in 1988. She earned her Veterinary degree in 1992 from Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Couret’s interest in alternative medicine began in 1999 after a battle against cancer with her own dog.

She took the IVAS acupuncture course and was certified in 2002. She took the Healing Oasis chiropractic course and was certified in 2002 as well. She is a member of IVAS, AAVA and the AVCA. In addition she has completed over 500 hours of training in Chinese herbal medicine. Her interests include many different complementary medical modalities including Homeopathy and Physical Therapy.

Dr. Couret currently resides in Litchfield Connecticut with her husband Michael and son Pierce. Her furry family includes their English Pointers Cole and Tristan and orange tiger cat Harry. She enjoys Aikido, horse back riding and scuba diving. (Source)
