About Kathryn Reid

Kathryn Reid is a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner. In 2023 she was invited into the faculty at Masterson Method to teach “Light to the Core”, a 2-day course for horse owners which improves horse/human communication, relationship, builds trust and helps the horse release tension in the body.

Kathryn is a Usui/Tibetan Reiki Ryoho Master, receiving her attunement at Stonehenge. She is also a Komyo Reiki Shihan, Karuna Reiki Master and Reiki Drumming Master. She also facilitates guided meditations.

The horse is a sentient being and as such is nourished by the quality of our touch. Kathryn speaks to the horse body, mind and spirit.

Kathryn is amazing. Highly recommend her for any body work or as a Mastersons instructor. Held a 2 day Light to the Core course at my barn and she was an amazing instructor! Both horses and riders learned and benefited in so many ways.

Kathryn has made a tremendous change in my twelve year old OTTB. She is patient, encouraging, and empathetic to his tendency not to want people to touch him. Now he works with Kathryn as she does the bodywork and sometimes appears to be so relaxed he appears to be asleep. Thank you Kathryn.
Kathryn is also an amazing teacher for horse owners wanting to learn how to this body work on their horses.

I have had the pleasure of hosting Masterson light to the core clinics facilitated by Kathryn Reid, at my facility. Kathryn is a very knowledgeable and professional facilitator and students learn a lot from her. It’s obvious that she is passionate about the body work. Both humans and horses greatly benefit. I would not hesitate to recommend Kathryn. Please consider hosting a clinic- your horses will thank you.

I met Kathryn a few years ago while my horse was struggling with so many different things, all stemming from pain response (leading to behavioural changes).

No body worker had been able to genuinely get any work done on him in almost a year.

That led me to finding someone who could work with him, at his level, with little to no touch — or, light touch.

Most people at that time that met my horse? They didn’t really WANT to try and work on him. Kathy was so patient and was so supportive to his needs and met him where he could meet her. By the end of his first session? He was relaxed and napped for about 40 minutes. Ever since then? He loves her. She can genuinely unlock and work with him in ways few others can.

She’s incredibly kind, and so so good for the horses—for their minds, bodies and spirits. I cannot say enough good things. My horse adores her, and she helped me ground myself in finding the right path forward for him too.

I would highly recommend Kathryn for body work she is very intuitive. I noticed a huge difference in all my horses.

I have known Kathryn for over 20 years and have seen her interact with many horses. Horses connect to her and respond positively. She has worked with our little herd over the years and it has always been amazing to watch her. She knows how to listen to the horse and communicate with them. The results are beautiful. I recently recommended Kathryn to a friend who got back with a glowing report of Kathryn’s work. She stated that Kathryn “has a gift” – and I agree.
