Kathy Simmons

Kathy brings to Diamond K almost 30 years of experience in the equestrian world. Her showing background includes Pony Club and IHSA in both Hunt Seat and Stock Seat. Her background as an instructor started in college where she assisted the lead instructor with the beginner riding program. She was a 4H leader in Alabama and has taught beginner riding lessons at 2 other facilities before coming to Diamond K. Kathy has had formal training in and experience with breaking/training, stable management, showmanship, breeding, and general husbandry. She offers beginner English riding lessons here at Diamond K for both children and adults.

Kathy loves to make her lessons fun and engaging for her students and is very flexible in tailoring each lesson to the student’s individual needs and goals. Her main focus is safety (and FUN,) all while developing a solid set of basics for each rider.
