Kati Lynn Lukas, DVM

Dr. Lukas has been practicing as an equine veterinarian since graduating from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She completed a one year rotating internship in Kansas City at Wilhite and Frees Equine Hospital. The internship included advanced experience in surgery, lameness, internal medicine, and ambulatory practice.

Dr. Kati Lukas returned to the Chicagoland area and worked at DuWayne Animal Clinic and Premier Equine Veterinary Service before deciding to open her own practice, Lukas Equine Veterinary Service in December 2011.

Working with the athletic animal is a passion of hers. Past experiences include working at Prairie Meadows Race Track in Altoona, Iowa and vetting various competitions including The American Royale Saddlebred Competition, the Heritage Park Horse Trials three-day event, and The Showplace Fall Classic/ IHJA “A” Finals at Lamplight Equestrian Center.

Dr. Kati Lukas has spoken three years in a row at the monthly meeting for the Trail Riders of DuPage (TROD). She has also spoken for various pony clubs, owners, trainers, horse lovers, and 4-H clubs. You can also look for Dr. Lukas in The Horse magazine under “Ask the Vet”.
