Keaton Massie, DVM

Dr. Massie dreamt of becoming a large animal veterinarian as a child and has now served in the veterinary profession for over 20 years. After completing his bachelor’s degree at Washington State University, Dr Massie worked as a mechanic, alligator wrestler, and zookeeper. He then joined the Army and worked as a veterinary technician in Italy and Germany while managing a veterinary clinic there.

Following his active duty commitment, he obtained his DVM from Ross University in St. Kitts where he conducted research on small ruminant reproduction and leptospirosis in donkeys. During school he collected hundreds of hours of experience externing; one of which was at Elgin Equine in Texas, where Dr. Massie focused on post foaling care, lameness, podiatry, surgery, and emergency equine medicine. His favorite patients were the bucking bulls.

Most recently, he was an ER vet at SOVSC, where he helped save the lives of countless companion animals. His career goal at MassieVet is to serve all animals holistically and combine the true art of horsemanship with the science of veterinary medicine. (Source)
