Dr Redmond’s greatest strength is her skill as a diagnostician. Her insight, experience, specialized training and whole-horse approach give Dr Redmond a unique advantage in reaching a diagnosis.
Following undergraduate work at the University of Kentucky, Dr Redmond attended veterinary school at Auburn University, where she graduated in 2004 with the distinctions of having the highest GPA and being the youngest member of her class. During her time in veterinary school Dr Redmond’s achievements included winning the Lloyd’s of London Equine Award, the Merck Veterinary Award, The Salsbury Foundation Scholarship, The Carroll Scholarship, The Hilmer Jones Endowment for Excellence Scholarship, and the High Scholastic Achievement Award from the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. After an internship at the prestigious New Jersey Equine Clinic, she began her career in private practice, with a focus on the equine athlete. Dr Redmond’s private practice experience includes several years in Lexington, KY, working exclusively with Thoroughbred racehorses.
Trained in animal chiropractic at Options for Animals and Equine Acupuncture at the Chi Institute, Dr. Redmond has enjoyed combining these modalities with her background in lameness and performance medicine. Since 2008 she has been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the legendary Dr. Stan Brown, a pioneer in the field of integrated medicine.
Dr Redmond has made it her mission to bring together all treatment modalities to work for the benefit of the animal. Even in today’s world, much of medicine remains divided into “traditional” and “alternative” camps. Dr Redmond has rejected this notion and worked to use all tools and treatments available to provide truly integrated medicine.
Keelin Redmond lives full time in Aiken, South Carolina. She shares her farm with three beloved horses and three spoiled dogs. In addition to her veterinary practice, Dr Redmond also formulates equine skin care products and founded her company, Medica Veterinary Products, in 2020. (Source)
