Dr. Kelsey Palsgaard grew up in California, falling in love with horses at an early age. She started out riding western, but quickly found her love for jumping and grew up competing in Hunter/Jumpers. Her passion for horses and interest in helping them led to a focused path to becoming an equine veterinarian.
Dr. Palsgaard graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with an Equine Emphasis from University of California, Davis. She stayed at UC Davis for veterinary school and graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. While in vet school, Dr. Palsgaard held an active role in the Student Veterinary Emergency Response Team as well as the student AAEP chapter. She was the first to graduate from the “Train the Trainer” program and graduated with special veterinary emergency response training. She employed by the Veterinary Emergency Response Team (VERT) at UC Davis. She responded with VERT to the catastrophic Northern CA wildfires multiple years in a row. She has also held multiple trainings for veterinary students and first responders on various topics relating to animals in emergency situations. Dr. Palsgaard attended CuraCore Integrative Medical Academy, earning her certification in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture (cVMA). Dr. Palsgaard worked at an equine hospital near Salt Lake City, Utah prior to moving to Oregon. Her professional interests include integrative medicine, ophthalmology, nutrition, and veterinary emergency response.
Dr. Palsgaard enjoys spending her spare time outdoors, riding horses, and hiking with her dog Luna. (Source)
