Kendra Hoey, DVM

Dr. Kendra Hoey has been involved with horses for over 25 years, competing in Pony Club and eventing her Trakehner mare of nearly 18 years, Sheiba. Prior to attending veterinary school she spent many summers working on a large Standardbred breeding farm. Her passion for horses led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She obtained a bachelor’s degree with a specialized honour in Bio-Medical Science from the University of Guelph, followed by a DVM from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2004. Following graduation, she completed an equine internship at a primary care and referral hospital outside of Calgary Alberta. Upon her return to Ontario in 2005 she joined the team at Ilderton Equine Services where she remained until this March, when she and Dr. Tara Foy started up their own practice, Western Ontario Equine Services.
