Kristen I. Stowell, BVetMed

Dr. Kristen Stowell graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2018. Prior to graduation, Dr. Stowell completed the Kesmarc Equine Rehabilitation externship as well as the Peterson & Smith Reproduction externship. After receiving her DVM, she went to the University of Illinois for a rotating internship in equine surgery, internal medicine, and ambulatory medicine. She then went on to complete a second year-long internship with Virginia Equine Imaging specializing in equine lameness and sports medicine. Dr. Stowell was raised in Illinois and grew up in Pony Club then transitioned to eventing, competing through the old classification of CIC 1 star level while a working student for Jon Holling. After losing her eventing horse, Dr. Stowell switched to the human form of eventing – triathlons, and now competes in Ironmans, ultramarathons and other shorter races. (Source)
