Lauren Zane Winfield, DVM

Lauren grew up in the Salinas Valley, riding horses with her mom and sisters — including Laramie, who is also a Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinics veterinarian.

Lauren joined SPEC in 2020, after working for nearly a decade at a Northern California equine practice, concentrating in preventive medicine, sport horse health and equine reproduction. She earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 and completed her internship at Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center in 2012, where she honed her skills in general and emergency equine medicine, lameness and surgery. Lauren is also a certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (cVA), as well as a certified Veterinary Medical Manipulation Practitioner (CVMMP), the credential for veterinarians who perform chiropractic adjustments on horses.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys training and riding horses, hiking, running, and spending time with family and her fiancé, Travis. (Source)
