Leah Marie Forquer, DVM

Dr. Leah Forquer grew up all over the United States as part of a military family. As a small child, a local stable ignited Leah’s passion for horses and introduced her to three-­day eventing. Understanding first hand the frustrations associated with equine lameness, Leah started her education at University of California at Davis with the hopes of eventually improving the manner by which we treat equine musculoskeletal injuries.

Prior to veterinary school, Leah completed a BS degree in Animal Science, and a PhD in Comparative Pathology both at UC Davis. With a long-­standing interest in sports medicine and rehabilitation, she found herself starting her graduate research as the veterinary regenerative medicine field was in its infancy. Ultimately, her graduate research focused on the role of stem cells in orthopedic pathology and aided in the beginnings of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine Regenerative Medicine Group.
