Marc Grock’s foray into the equestrian world began as a teenager, riding with some of the top West Coast horse professionals of the time. Learning from trainers ranging from Bob and Debbie McDonald, Mousie Williams, Richard Keller and Joie Gatlin, Marc’s foundation of riding and horsemanship was impressed upon him at an early age.
In the early 1990’s, Marc took his horses to the East Coast where he enjoyed great success with his Amateur Owner jumpers, two of whom Marc went on to show in the Grand Prix’s. Marc’s top horse at that time, “El Paso” was awarded Horse Of The Year, the first of several of Marc’s horses to achieve such an award.
Upon Marc’s return to California he settled back into riding in North County, San Diego with Phillip Cillis and Hap Hansen. During his last years of showing as an amateur, Marc’s horses included two top hunters named “Aloha” and “Deluxe,” on whom Marc accumulated many wins, with Aloha ultimately becoming Horse Of The Year in 2001.
The following year Marc began his professional career and was soon focused on producing winning horse and rider combinations throughout the hunter, equitation and jumper divisions. Winning a host of year end awards, WCAR Team qualifications, traveling to Spruce Meadows and throughout California with his group of riders, Marc developed a keen understanding of what it takes to get people ready to compete at the level necessary to win on the “A” circuit.
Being no stranger to the world of equestrian show jumping, Marc has also continued to bring forth riders in both the Children’s, Junior and Adult Hunter divisions and enjoyed great success with his clients along the way. (Source)
