Meghan Waller, DVM

Dr. Meghan Waller grew up on a small hobby farm in eastern Ontario and was bitten by the horse bug at an early age. From her beginnings in Pony Club to traveling the circuit as a groom for several Canadian Olympic show jumpers, Meghan has been involved in many aspects of equine healthcare across various disciplines.

Meghan graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College and completed an internship with a focus on sports medicine and lameness with Fairfield Equine Associates in Newtown, CT and Wellington, FL. A keen interest in equine welfare led her to several volunteer trips in South America and North Africa, where she assisted in the healthcare of the hard-working horses and donkeys in the region. After her internship, Meghan returned to Southern Ontario, working for several equine practices prior starting Escarpment Equine Veterinary Services in 2017.

Meghan’s main interest is equine sports medicine diagnostics and therapies, focusing on an integrative approach to equine wellness and performance. Meghan is a certified veterinary medical acupuncturist, a FEI Permitted Treating Veterinarian and a member of the International Society of Equine Locomotion Pathology (ISELP). Though sports medicine is her primary passion, Meghan also enjoys a whole horse approach to equine care, with an interest in dentistry, nutrition and emergency care. (Source)
