Melissa Prell, DVM

Dr. Melissa Prell is an associate veterinarian at the Advanced Fertility Center in Summerfield, Florida. Dr. Prell was born and raised in Florida and began riding horses at age four. Her love for horses and animals grew over the years, which lead her to pursue a future in veterinary medicine.

Before Dr. Prell went to Vet School, she moved to Germany for four years with her now-husband, where she became fluent in German.

Once they moved back to the States, Dr. Prell attended the University of Florida, earning her bachelor’s degree in animal science. She then went on to graduate from Ross University with her degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2015. During her final year of vet school, she became certified in veterinary acupuncture.

After vet school, she went onto complete a rotating internship at the University of Illinois in internal medicine and surgery. She continued onto a residency in equine reproduction while concurrently obtaining a master’s degree from Colorado State University in 2018. In 2019 she became a mom, which did not slow her down; she became board certified in theriogenology in 2020.

During her free time, Dr. Prell loves riding and training horses, spending time with her family, hiking, traveling and paddle boarding, or simply being outdoors. (Source)
