Dr. Motter grew up on a farm near Hope, ND. He took his pre-vet classes at NDSU then moved on to veterinary school at Iowa State University, graduating in 1988. He has practiced at the Cooperstown Veterinary Clinic since 1989. Dr. Motter’s family includes his wife Susan, son John, and daughter Megan. The Motters truly involve pets and livestock in their lives with 5 dogs (5 Miniature Australian Shepherds, Allison, Emma, William, Miley, and Lucy), several house cats and barn cats, 2 pet goats, 25 Morgan horses, and a small herd of Angus cattle. Dr. Motter enjoys spending his free time with his family, fishing, horseback riding, and deer hunting. He also enjoys making hay when everything works well! The variety of this veterinary practice keeps Dr. Paul’s interest. In addition to working with the animals, he enjoys working with animal owners and his staff to prevent or resolve animal problems.
