Rachel Benson

There’s no better leadership or life coach than a horse. They’ve figured you out before you’ve said a word:  The hesitation in your walk, the tension in your shoulders, the story you’re telling yourself but don’t realize you’re stuck in.  They see it all and it’s my job to help you make meaning of what they’re noticing in you and make connections to the change you want to create and feel in your life.

That’s the heart of what I do.

I’m a certified Equus Coach. I partner with horses to help people get clear on who they are and what they actually want. No riding involved. Just my clients, a horse, and a lot of insight they didn’t expect to find in a round pen.

My clients come to me at all kinds of crossroads: a career pivot, an empty nest, a relationship shift, or just that nagging sense that it’s time for something to change. Together, we work through what’s actually holding them back: Old patterns, borrowed expectations, self-doubt, so they can lead from a place of self-trust instead of second-guessing. I also work with kids, helping them build confidence and self-awareness. It’s an incredible honor and joy for me!

Before coaching, I spent years in storytelling: first in publishing, then in advertising, then in documentary film work, which taught me how to really listen for the story underneath the story. And from early on, people gravitated to me for help in gaining clarity and insights about things that were going on in their lives.  That instinct shows up in every session I run today.

If you’re standing at your own crossroads and looking for clarity, I’d love to talk. All sessions take place at a private ranch in Moss Beach, CA.
