Dr. Rachel Gottlieb creates lasting relationships with her clients and patients, built on a foundation of compassion and confidence. She is trusted by the industry’s top equine professionals and veterinarians for her judgment and reliability. She found a true professional partner in Dr. Mark Revenaugh when she interned with his practice, sharing his passion for seeing patients compete successfully and clients achieve their goals.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she began riding and caring for horses at age four and never wavered from her childhood dream of becoming an equine veterinarian. She developed an early interest in equine lameness and diagnostic imaging under the tutelage of one of the world’s pioneers in diagnostic ultrasound, “Doc” Ron Genovese. She graduated with honors in animal science from the University of Massachusetts, received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California-Davis, where she was also selected for the prestigious Large Animal Ultrasound Fellowship (one of two such training programs in the nation).
As the only fellowship trained ultrasonographer in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Gottlieb consults on complex lameness cases, and teaches veterinarians nationally and internationally on the use of ultrasound in diagnosis and in rehabilitative therapies. She has worked with veterinarians worldwide on the use of high-powered lasers to speed the healing process in equine athletes.
Dr. Gottlieb frequently travels to horse shows to provide point-of-care service when the stakes are high. She was an Associate Team Veterinarian for the US Eventing Team, performing ultrasound examinations on all team horses as a part of the selection criteria for the 2014 World Equestrian Games. She is Team Veterinarian for the USEA Area VII Young Riders Eventing Team. Dr. Gottlieb most recently served as President of the Northwest Equine Practitioners Association (NEPA).
Dr. Gottlieb enjoys exploring the food scene with her husband Daniel, and knows every word to the songs from the Frozen franchise thanks to daughters Lilly and Devyn. (Source)
