Rachel Gardner, DVM DACVIM

Dr. Rachel Gardner earned both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees from Cornell University. During her undergraduate years she played polo for Cornell University and then helped to coach the JV team during her early years of veterinary school. After earning her DVM degree in 2001, she completed a rotating internship at Blue Ridge Equine Clinic in Earleysville, VA. She then returned to Cornell University to complete a three year residency in large animal internal medicine and received her ACVIM board certification in 2005. She joined B.W. Furlong and Associates that same year as the internal medicine specialist and has worked to expand the hospital services since that time. Her primary interests include gastrointestinal disorders of horses, ophthalmology and foals. When she is not working, Dr. Gardner can usually be found training for marathons with her dog Stella, riding her horse Stetson, or spending time with her husband Jason. (Source)
