Rachel Powers, DVM

Her love of horses followed her to college at SUNY Geneseo where she studied Biology and Creative Writing. Time spent as a member of Geneseo’s Equestrian team further proved to Dr. Powers that she wanted a career caring for horses. Dr. Powers worked as student technician in the large animal hospital at Cornell University where she was enthralled by the unique cases and talented clinicians.

It is through her time as a student technician, that Dr. Powers first learned about Fairfield Equine. Following graduation from vet school, Dr. Powers was excited to accept an internship at Fairfield. During her internship she developed a love for sports medicine and emergency work. She is ecstatic to continue to work alongside the other wonderful doctors and technicians at Fairfield as an associate doctor. (Source)
