Rebecca Adkins, DVM

Dr Becca Adkins is originally from Augusta, GA, where she learned to ride Hunter Jumpers as a child. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. During Veterinary school, her emphasis was in Equine Medicine and Surgery. Also, while in Athens, her riding transitioned into the wonderful world of Eventing, Dressage and Fox Hunting.

Following graduation from Veterinary School, she completed an internship at Reid and Associates and then continued on as an associate for an additional 2 years gaining invaluable experience at the high-volume equine practice in Wellington, FL. She has extensive experience and knowledge in surgery, sport horse medicine, and reproduction as well as preventative and emergency medicine. Adding to her expertise, she is now certified in acupuncture by the Chi Institute.

In her down time, Dr Adkins enjoys riding her Percheron Cross, Lancelot. They spend their time schooling dressage or preparing for an event. It is also common to find them out on the trails. Her fur family is completed by 2 cats, Mica and Milkman. (Source)
