Ronald L. Genovese, VMD

Dr. Ronald Genovese is a 1964 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, he served two years in the U.S. Army’s Fitzsimmons General Hospital in Denver, CO, doing physiological and pathological research.

In 1966, Dr. Genovese joined the founder of the Randall Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Joseph Solomon, who was his practice mentor and close friend. Dr. Genovese’s expertise has been in equine sports medicine and surgery, with more than 40 years spent dealing with equine lameness.

Dr. Genovese is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP). He is a member of the AAEP On Call Program and has served on various committees and as a member of the Board of Directors.

He received the AAEP’s Outstanding Educator Award and was cited for “helping countless young veterinarians learn the rigors of private equine practice, and since 1983 providing one-on-one assistance in ultrasonography to well over 50 veterinarians in his clinic.” When nominated for the award, he was described as a man revered by his clients, respected by his colleagues and loved by his staff. He also received a Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Pennsylvania.

Today he has a special interest in equine lameness, specifically limb ultrasonography. (Source)
