Sadie Daugherty Ziel, DVM

Sadie Daugherty Ziel spent her youth horseback riding and involved in horse care in the San Francisco Bay Area. She began riding the hunter-jumper circuit then soon became active in a local Pony Club. With her interest in Pony Club came participation in three day eventing competitions in which she continues to compete. She graduated Pony Club Level H.A. while an undergraduate student at UC Davis.
In June of 2004, she received her B.S. in Animal Sciences from U.C. Davis. Dr. Ziel earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis in June 2009. The U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine awarded Dr. Ziel top honors in the field of equine imaging at graduation. While in school, Dr. Ziel interned at the U.C. Davis Equestrian Center as the Center’s primary equine veterinarian.

After graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Ziel relocated to San Luis Obispo County. She was able to practice in association with a seasoned local equine veterinarian before establishing Star Equine Veterinary Mobile Services.

Dr. Ziel was married in August 2011 to her boyfriend of five years, Craig Ziel. Her name is now formally changed from Sarah (Sadie) Daugherty, DVM, to Sarah (Sadie) Daugherty Ziel, DVM, or simply Dr. Ziel. (Source)
