Scotty Howell, DVM

Dr. Howell was born and raised in Trenton, Tennessee. He comes from a long line of mule farmers. Currently, his parents, Nicky and Rose Howell, manage about 70 head of mules and mammoth draftstock. Dr. Howell started his career working as an assistant at Trenton Animal Clinic when he was 16 years old.

Dr. Howell graduated from Bradford High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. He received a Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Science. He then attended The Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He performed his clinical year at Oklahoma State School of Veterinary Medicine. He worked for a period at Delta Downs Equine Center in Vinton, LA. He has been working at Trenton Animal Clinic as an associate since 2004. He purchased the clinic in 2008.

Dr. Scotty married Dr. Jill in 2005. Levi Howell was born in 2009 and Samantha Howell was born in 2012. You are likely to see them running around the clinic if you stop in!

Currently, our farm includes horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, hogs, pot bellied pigs, chickens, goats, ducks, mules, donkeys, cows and even a few llamas. We raise riding mules and hogs. (Source)
