Sophie Michelle Heikkila, DVM

Dr. Sophie Heikkila hails from Loveland, Ohio. She is a 2013 graduate of The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and chose to focus her education in equine medicine. During her veterinary training, she was fortunate to learn at some of the best equine hospitals in the country, including Hagyard, BW Furlong, Virginia Equine Imaging, and Tennessee Equine Hospital. She also completed an internship at KESMARC, an equine rehab center in Lexington, KY. Dr. Heikkila spent her first year in practice working at South Shore Equine Clinic, which was both a referral hospital and ambulatory practice near Boston, MA. She has been with Agri-Pet since 2014. Her professional interests include wellness care, nutrition, sports medicine, and rehabilitation. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her animals (2 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 pony) as well as hiking, gardening, cooking, and being a diehard Buckeye football fan. (Source)
