Steve Morris

I began my Farrier career in 1984 after graduating from the Kemptville College of Agriculture, Ontario, Canada. From the beginning, I worked to further my professional development by working with my peers and attending clinics and workshops. I also continue my education in horsemanship, shoeing techniques for therapeutic and corrective applications through forging and shoe modifications for the well-being of the horse.

My theory regarding shoeing is to shoe or trim the horse rather than just addressing the feet. I have had the good fortune to work with several excellent veterinarians and other talented farriers in many therapeutic cases.

I attained my American Farriers Association Certified Farrier (AFA CF), and the American Farriers Association Certified Journeymen Farrier (AFA CJF) in 1986. In 1991 I was appointed as an American Farrier Association (AFA) Tester; and, in 2000 I was selected to become an Examiner by the AFA. https://www.americanfarriers.org As an AFA Approved Examiner I am required to supervise the process of the Certifications and ensure that the standards of the program are maintained, as well as supervise the administration of all written and practical examinations at Certifications throughout North America.
