Susan Roach, DVM

Growing up in the heart of Illinois, Susan was an avid Pony Club member and horse showing enthusiast in a number of disciplines. At the age of 35, after serving as a volunteer emergency medical technician, Susan decided on a second career in life and pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian. Susan was a non-traditional student and the first person in her family to receive a college diploma.

Dr. Roach received her Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science from Colorado State University in 2002. Her research work, focusing on infectious disease; specifically Streptococcus equi, Clostridium difficile and West Nile Virus resulted in several published papers in major scientific journals, including the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Journal of Veterinary Diagnostic Investigation. She then went on to vet school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, spending her clinical year at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 2009, Dr. Roach pursued further training at Louisiana Center for Equine Reproduction. (Source)
