Dr. Tegan Alce moved to Alaska from a mixed animal practice in British Columbia, Canada, in 2016 but has previously lived in over 21 homes spread across North America with her military family. She completed her veterinary schooling in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at Western College of Veterinary Medicine and more recently completed her training with Curacore to become a certified Veterinary Medical Acupuncturist (cVMA) in both small and large animals. She most enjoys performing various types of surgery, working with critically ill patients, and using acupuncture to benefit animals from all walks of life, but she also enjoys the variety of cases that are seen at Tier 1 Veterinary Medical Center. When not at work, she can be found hiking with her Rhodesian Ridgeback Kira, riding and training her Oldenburg horse Izzy in hunter/ jumper style riding, biking, travelling, rap and hip hop music, and practicing photography. She is planning to further her education in basic orthopedic surgery in 2020, wants to become more skilled at cross country skiing, and plans to start hunting in Alaska in the near future. She looks forward to meeting you and your furry friends for whatever their needs may be. (Source)
