About Travis R. McKinzie, DVM

Dr. McKinzie came to our hospital March of 2019 after his wife and him moved from up north. Dr. McKinzie joined out hospital with a large amount of Small and Large animal experience. He and his wife owned a mixed animal practice from 1996-2014 in Kansas and then started working at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital in Monroe from 2017-2019 before making the decision to join our team. Although his main focus is in Equine medicine, he enjoys a variety of all animals. (Source)

    Dr. McKinzie is a thorough and thoughtful DVM. He was the first vet to dig deeper into our horse’s symptoms and finally find the culprit (PNE). We had taken her to many vets prior for various behavioral changes and were always told she was just “spooky” numerous tests were run with other vets all coming back negative. Dr. McKinzie focused on finding the underlying cause and wasn’t satisfied with just saying she’s acting up because of stress. He ran a panel of tests and sure enough found the reason so we can start treatment immediately. I appreciate that his solutions don’t cost a small mortgage and he is the best equine vet we have had the pleasure to work with.
