Takoda Equine Therapy began out of my life long love for all animals, especially horses. I believe that horse’s do speak and if we are intuitive enough to listen, we can help them release most of their accumulated tension whether it is physical or mental. Once the tension is released, we see improved range of motion, better attitude as well as a much happier and more willing horse. They do try to tell us when something isn’t quite right. They may buck, rear, shake and toss their heads, be hard to catch, resistant to trailer loading, intermittent lameness and sometimes shutting down mentally. I am passionate about helping all horses and their people and as Jim Masterson says, “We work with the horse, not on the horse.” I love all breeds, genders and disciplines. Each horse is an individual and I cater to whatever each horse may need. Also, I enjoy doing interactive demo/workshops where I can teach a few of the techniques and introduce people to this wonderful method where the results are instant, obvious and very rewarding.
