[Isolation and purification of proteolytic enzymes on organo-silica sorbents with immobilized gramicidin S].
Ukrainskii biokhimicheskii zhurnal (1978)    November 1, 1987   Volume 59, Issue 6 28-33
Ignatchenko AP, Bogomaz VI, Tugaĭ VA, Chuĭko AA.Biospecific sorbents for affinity chromatography of proteolytic enzymes have been synthesized by attaching cyclopeptide antibiotic gramicidin S to organo-silica supports. It is shown possible to attach gramicidin S to the organo-silica supports using glutaric aldehyde, p-benzoquinone, soluble and insoluble carbodiimides. The sorbents prepared by these methods were successfully applied for the purification of the crude pepsin from horse gastric juice and proteolytic complex produced by Acremonium chrysogenum.
[Effect of carbostimulin on acid-base equilibrium of the blood of racing horses during exertion].
Ukrainskii biokhimicheskii zhurnal (1978)    January 1, 1986   Volume 58, Issue 1 83-85
Kalinskiĭ MI, Kamenetskaia OV, Skorik LG, Tishchenko GN.The paper deals with possibility to regulate in a proper direction the acid-base state in race horse blood administering carbostimulin at rest and under physical exercises. The preparation is shown to favour an increase in alkaline blood reserves in race hours at rest and to prevent acidotic changes caused by physical exercises. The results obtained show a promising use of carbostimulin for the directed correction of the acid-base state of blood in race horses aimed at increasing the efficiency of the training process.
[Some physicochemical properties of native and polymerized glutaraldehyde-treated horse heart cytochrome c].
Ukrainskii biokhimicheskii zhurnal (1978)    September 1, 1982   Volume 54, Issue 5 497-501
Skok MV, Denisiuk PV, Komissarenko SV.Glutaraldehyde treatment does not change the absorption of cytochrome c either in the visible or in UV spectra. It brings about the formation of dimers, trimers and high-polymeric forms of cytochrome c and shifts the pI of all cytochrome c isoelectric fractions to more acid pH. Polymerization also results in changes of kinetic parameters of cytochrome c benzidine reaction increasing its affinity to 3,3-diaminobenzidine with a simultaneous decrease in the effectiveness of H2O2 binding. These biochemical changes can be related to immunochemical differences of native and glutaraldehyde-treated cy...
