[Comparative studies on clearance determination in horses]. Results of comparative tests with several clearance methods on a total of 16 horses are reported.
The mean value calculated for endogenous creatinine clearance is 72.1±9.0, for total inulin clearance (from volume of distribution and elimination constant) 66.6±6.5 and for renal inulin clearance (with falling blood level and urine collection periods) 69.4±11.1 ml - min-1 - m-2.
The sodium clearance averages 0.12±0.09, the potassium clearance 38.1±12.4 ml - min-1 - m-2.
