Chamomile

Chamomile refers to several species of aromatic flowering plants in the Asteraceae family, most commonly Matricaria chamomilla (German chamomile) and Chamaemelum nobile (Roman chamomile). The dried flowers of these plants contain a range of bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, terpenoids and essential oils. In equine products, chamomile is generally used as a botanical additive or herbal supplement ingredient.

Chamomile is typically included in equine feed or supplements in dried or powdered form, and occasionally as part of herbal blends. Its primary role in feed formulations is not nutritional, but rather functional or supportive, based on its traditional use in calming blends and gastrointestinal support.
