Copper Amino Acid Complex
Copper amino acid complex is an organic trace mineral supplement in which copper is chelated (bound) to amino acids, improving its bioavailability compared to inorganic forms like copper sulfate or copper oxide. This enhanced absorption allows for more efficient utilization in the horse’s body.
In equine nutrition, copper is essential for red blood cell production, connective tissue formation, immune function, and coat pigmentation. It also plays a critical role in joint health by supporting cartilage development.
