Methods: Sixty-two horses were sampled in an endemic area of human leptospirosis. The microscopic agglutination test (MAT) and real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) were performed. Forty four sera samples from two lots of horses with natural T. evansi infection (Lot 1 and Lot 2) were used.
