Equine behavioral enrichment toys as tools for non-invasive recovery of viral and host DNA. Direct collection of samples from wildlife can be difficult and sometimes impossible. The aim of this study was to determine whether concentrations of reproductive steroid hormone metabolites significantly differed between harem stallions and bachelor stallions in the free ranging group of Przewalski's horses (Equus ferus przewalskii) at the Hortobágy National Park in Hungary. Immunocontraception and increased longevity in equids. Intensive population management by means of fertility control has been shown to change the age profile of a wild horse herd. The primary change has been an increase in the number and percent of older animals, as expected, but also the appearance of new and older age classes.
