The study conducted experiments to analyze the expression levels of certain genes in samples procured from equine tissues. The findings suggest high expression of COL1A2 and scleraxis, and low expression of tenascin-C indicate a tensional tendon phenotype. However, in vitro culture methods used in the study may not fully replicate the actual behavior of these cells in tissues.
