Vicky Simons, a student from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), constructed a life-size model of equine anatomy, called ‘anatohorse’ or Geoff, as a part of her end-of-year veterinary medicine study before beginning an internship.

Objective

Vicky Simons, a final year student of Veterinary Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), created a full-sized model of a horse’s anatomy for her final year project, a model she named ‘anatohorse,’ otherwise known as ‘Geoff.’

Anatomy and Veterinary Medicine Study

• The task set by Simons was part of her studies in veterinary medicine at the RVC, one of the world’s leading veterinary and biological science institutions. This project provided her a practical understanding and hands-on experience of intricate biological structures and systems.
• The study of anatomy is fundamental in veterinary medicine, as it grants comprehension of animal physiology, aiding in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Building Geoff provided an amazing opportunity to develop and apply these vital skills.

The Creation of Geoff

• The anatohorse, Geoff, is a life-sized model of a horse, showcasing various anatomical parts. Creating Geoff allowed Simons to delve into the study of equine anatomy, giving her a detailed understanding of a horse’s physical configuration.
