Quisqualis indica (Rangoon-Creeper)

Quisqualis indica, commonly known as Rangoon-creeper, is a tropical climbing plant native to Asia and now widely cultivated in warm climates. Its seeds and fruits have been used in traditional herbal systems and contain amino-acid derivatives and other bioactive plant compounds. The species is also known botanically as Combretum indicum in modern taxonomic references.

In equine supplements, Quisqualis indica may appear in traditional herbal blends, particularly formulations historically associated with intestinal parasite management. However, it is not a source of essential nutrients and there is little controlled research evaluating its efficacy or safety in horses. Because some traditional uses involve pharmacologically active seed constituents, it should only be used in equine products with careful attention to identity, processing, and dose.
