Relationship of seminal plasma level and extender type to sperm motility and DNA integrity.
Theriogenology    March 15, 2005   Volume 63, Issue 6 1584-1591 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.05.030
Love CC, Brinsko SP, Rigby SL, Thompson JA, Blanchard TL, Varner DD.The relationship between seminal plasma level (0, 10, or 20%) and extender type [Kenney type (EZ-Mixin-CST) or Kenney-modified Tyrodes-KMT] to the susceptibility of sperm DNA to denaturation and sperm motility measures were investigated in cooled (5 degrees C) stallion sperm. Three ejaculates from each of three fertile stallions were collected in an artificial vagina and processed as follows: diluted one part uncentrifuged semen with four parts of extender to a final concentration of 20% seminal plasma in either CST or KMT (20% CST; 20% KMT); diluted to a final concentration of 25 million sper...
GPX5 orthologs of the mouse epididymis-restricted and sperm-bound selenium-independent glutathione peroxidase are not expressed with the same quantitative and spatial characteristics in large domestic animals.
Theriogenology    March 5, 2005   Volume 64, Issue 4 1016-1033 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2005.01.008
Grignard E, Morin J, Vernet P, Drevet JR.We report here on the cloning of cDNAs coding bovine and equine orthologs of mouse epididymis-restricted and sperm-bound glutathione peroxidase 5 (GPX5), a selenium-independent member of the multigenic GPX family in mammals. The complete sequence of bovine GPX5 as well as a partial sequence of the equine GPX5 were characterized, conceptually translated and aligned with other known mammalian GPX5 proteins. Using Northern blotting assays, we show that the level of expression of GPX5 is high in bovine but low in equine and that in both species the regionalization of GPX5 expression in epididymis ...
High pressure flow cytometric sorting damages sperm.
Theriogenology    March 2, 2005   Volume 64, Issue 5 1035-1048 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2005.02.002
Suh TK, Schenk JL, Seidel GE.Sexing sperm by high-speed flow cytometry subjects them to high pressure. The routine operating pressure of the MoFlo SX flow cytometer for sperm sorting for commercial production has been 50 pounds/square inch (psi), with a standard 70 microm standard nozzle tip. It was hypothesized that lowering the sorting pressure could reduce sperm damage. Therefore, a series of experiments using semen from six bulls, sorted with three MoFlo SX sorters, was conducted to determine optimal pressure. An additional experiment was done with stallion spermatozoa. In Experiment 1, sorting at 30 psi compared to 5...
Establishment of pregnancies after serial dilution or direct transfer by vitrified equine embryos.
Theriogenology    February 24, 2005   Volume 63, Issue 5 1308-1319 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.06.015
Eldridge-Panuska WD, di Brienza VC, Seidel GE, Squires EL, Carnevale EM.Experiments were conducted to determine viability of equine embryos in vivo after vitrification. In a preliminary study (Experiment 1), embryos were exposed in three steps to vitrification solutions containing increasing concentrations of ethylene glycol and glycerol (EG/G); the final vitrification solution was 3.4 M glycerol + 4.6 M ethylene glycol in a base medium of phosphate-buffered saline. Embryos were warmed in a two-step dilution and transferred into uteri of recipients. No pregnancies were observed after transfer of blastocysts >300 microm (n = 3). Transfer of morulae or blastocyst...
Activity of glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase and catalase and lipid peroxidation intensity in stallion semen during storage at 5 degrees C.
Theriogenology    February 24, 2005   Volume 63, Issue 5 1354-1365 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.07.005
Kankofer M, Kolm G, Aurich J, Aurich C.Sperm cell membranes are susceptible to peroxidative damage by an excess of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Antioxidative defence systems consisting of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) physiologically control the balance between ROS production and neutralization. In the present study the hypothesis was tested that lipid peroxidation occurs during storage of semen at 5 degrees C and that semen extender has positive effects on the antioxidative potential of equine semen. The aim of the study was to determine the activity of GSH-Px, SOD and CAT and the...
Effect of feeding a DHA-enriched nutriceutical on the quality of fresh, cooled and frozen stallion semen.
Theriogenology    February 24, 2005   Volume 63, Issue 5 1519-1527 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.07.010
Brinsko SP, Varner DD, Love CC, Blanchard TL, Day BC, Wilson ME.Eight stallions were used in 2 x 2 crossover study to determine if feeding a nutriceutical rich in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) would improve semen quality. Stallions were randomly assigned to one of two treatment groups (n = 4 per group). Stallions were fed their normal diet (control) or their normal diet top-dressed with 250 g of a DHA-enriched nutriceutical. Feeding trials lasted for 14 week, after which a 14-week washout period was allowed and the treatment groups were reversed for another 14 week feeding trial. Feeding the nutriceutical resulted in a three-fold increase in semen DHA levels ...
SNARE proteins and caveolin-1 in stallion spermatozoa: possible implications for fertility.
Theriogenology    January 18, 2005   Volume 64, Issue 2 275-291 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.11.021
Gamboa S, Ramalho-Santos J.Proteins implicated in the "SNARE hypothesis" for membrane fusion have been characterized in the acrosome of several mammalian species, and a functional role for these proteins during the acrosome reaction has been proposed. We have investigated the presence of SNAREs in equine sperm, using semen samples obtained from stallions with varying fertility. Immunocytochemical analysis revealed that members of different SNARE families can be detected on the acrosome of equine sperm, notably in the acrosomal cap and equatorial segment. These proteins include the t-SNARE syntaxin, the v-SNARE synaptobr...
Weaknesses in reports of “fertility” for horses and other species.
Theriogenology    January 5, 2005   Volume 63, Issue 3 698-715 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.04.010
Amann RP.Apparent fertility of a male or group of females is considered frequently by veterinarians or animal scientists. Unfortunately, concepts of experimental design and statistics impacting validity and interpretation of values for average pregnancy rate frequently are ignored. The magnitude of this problem was documented by examination of published papers; 51 of 67 (76%) were considered flawed for one or more reasons. The discussion considers why: (a) conclusions from most published fertility studies reporting no significant difference due to treatment(s) are suspect, because too few males and/or ...
The effect of age on multiple ovulation rates, multiple pregnancy rates and embryonic vesicle diameter in the mare.
Theriogenology    December 30, 2004   Volume 63, Issue 9 2482-2493 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.09.058
Morel MC, Newcombe JR, Swindlehurst JC.Numerous and conflicting reports exist regarding factors that may effect mare reproductive performance, in particular multiple ovulation (MO) and its consequences. Sequential ultrasonic examination was used to monitor 3075 ovulations in 1581 mainly Thoroughbred mares to ascertain: whether increasing age is associated with an increase in MO; whether this is counteracted by an increase in embryo mortality (EM) prior to Day 13; and whether this embryonic loss may be associated with small-for-age embryonic vesicles (Days 13/14). Overall ovulation rate was 1.31, MO occurring in 29.3% of cycles. MO ...
Effect of insemination dose and site on uterine inflammatory response of mares.
Theriogenology    December 15, 2004   Volume 63, Issue 9 2504-2512 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.10.016
Güvenc K, Reilas T, Katila T.It is unclear whether AI of mares deep into the uterine horn causes more or less inflammation of the endometrium than conventional AI. Thus, we compared uterine inflammatory reactions of mares inseminated with two different doses of frozen-thawed semen into the tip of the uterine horn (UH) ipsilateral to the preovulatory follicle with those of mares inseminated into the uterine body (UB). Thirty-two mares were assigned to one of four groups (eight mares/group): UB20=AI into UB, 20 x 10(6)sperm/0.5 mL; UB200=AI into UB, 200 x 10(6)sperm/0.5 mL; UH20=AI into UH, 20 x 10(6)sperm/0.5 mL; UH200=AI ...
Effects of glutamine on post-thaw motility of stallion spermatozoa: an approach of the mechanism of action at spermatozoa level.
Theriogenology    December 14, 2004   Volume 63, Issue 1 138-149 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.04.012
Khlifaoui M, Battut I, Bruyas JF, Chatagnon G, Trimeche A, Tainturier D.The cryoprotective effect of l-glutamine and an approach of its mechanism of action, in preserving motility of stallion spermatozoa during the freezing-thawing process, were studied. In Experiment 1, thirty-six ejaculates were collected from six stallions (two good, two middle, and two of poor sperm freezability) and were diluted with 10 different freezing media derived from INRA 82 medium supplemented with 20 mM HEPES and 2% (v/v) centrifuged egg yolk (BM). After thawing, sperm motility was evaluated by a computer-assisted semen motility analyser. The effects of glutamine and glycerol at diff...
Differences in the incidence of apoptosis between in vivo and in vitro produced blastocysts of farm animal species: a comparative study.
Theriogenology    November 28, 2004   Volume 63, Issue 8 2254-2268 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.10.015
Pomar FJ, Teerds KJ, Kidson A, Colenbrander B, Tharasanit T, Aguilar B, Roelen BA.The occurrence of pregnancies and births after embryo transfer (ET) of in vivo produced embryos is generally more successful compared to that of embryos produced in vitro. This difference in ET success has been observed when embryos of morphological equal (high) quality were used. The incidence of apoptosis has been suggested as an additional criterion to morphological embryo evaluation in order to assess embryo quality and effectively predict embryo viability. In this study, equine, porcine, ovine, caprine and bovine in vivo and in vitro produced morphologically selected high quality (grade-I...
Progestagen profiles during the last trimester of gestation in Thoroughbred mares with normal or compromised pregnancies.
Theriogenology    November 13, 2004   Volume 63, Issue 7 1844-1856 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.08.010
Ousey JC, Houghton E, Grainger L, Rossdale PD, Fowden AL.Progesterone (P4), pregnenolone (P5) and their metabolites are present in maternal plasma in pregnant mares. It is believed that one of these progestagens may maintain myometrial quiescence. The aims of this study were to identify specific progestagens in pregnant mares' plasma and determine whether these differed between mares with healthy or compromised pregnancies. Jugular blood samples were collected between 243 and 351 days gestation from 19 healthy Thoroughbred mares and 14 mares with placental pathology, including placentitis, and other clinical problems (uterine torsion/rupture, colic,...
A Bayesian approach to prediction of stallion daily sperm output.
Theriogenology    October 30, 2004   Volume 62, Issue 9 1607-1617 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2004.03.015
Thompson JA, Love CC, Stich KL, Brinsko SP, Blanchard TL, Varner DD.In equine breeding, the number of spermatozoa ejaculated is considered an important factor in fertility. Methods for predicting the number of spermatozoa have been derived from semen collection procedures. A once-daily collection period for 10 days is a standard recommendation to predict long-term daily sperm output (DSO). The first objective of this study was to determine the precision or repeatability of these DSO predictions. Semen was collected and evaluated daily during four periods for 10 days, for 15 different stallions. The analytical methods utilized hierarchal Bayesian modeling as im...
Evaluation of alternative cryoprotectants for preserving stallion spermatozoa.
Theriogenology    August 4, 2004   Volume 62, Issue 6 1056-1065 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.12.024
Squires EL, Keith SL, Graham JK.Although use of cryopreserved stallion spermatozoa is currently accepted by many breed registries, utilization of this technique remains limited due to poor fertility for some stallions. One reason for these results is osmotic stress that spermatozoa experiences when the cryoprotectant (glycerol) is added to the cells prior to freezing and removal from the cells after thawing. In an effort to minimize osmotic damage, alternative cryoprotectants, having lower molecular weights and greater membrane permeability than glycerol, were evaluated to determine their effectiveness for cryopreserving sta...
Methanol as a cryoprotectant for equine embryos.
Theriogenology    August 4, 2004   Volume 62, Issue 6 1153-1159 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.12.026
Bass LD, Denniston DJ, Maclellan LJ, McCue PM, Seidel GE, Squires EL.Equine embryos (n=43) were recovered nonsurgically 7-8 days after ovulation and randomly assigned to be cryopreserved in one of two cryoprotectants: 48% (15M) methanol (n=22) or 10% (136 M) glycerol (n=21). Embryos (300-1000 microm) were measured at five intervals after exposure to glycerol (0, 2, 5, 10 and 15 min) or methanol (0, 15, 35, 75 and 10 min) to determine changes (%) in diameter over time (+/-S.D.). Embryos were loaded into 0.25-ml plastic straws, sealed, placed in a programmable cell freezer and cooled from room temperature (22 degrees C) to -6 degrees C. Straws were then seeded, h...
Effects of different artificial insemination techniques and sperm doses on fertility of normal mares and mares with abnormal reproductive history.
Theriogenology    July 15, 2004   Volume 62, Issue 5 915-928 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.12.011
Sieme H, Bonk A, Hamann H, Klug E, Katila T.The effects of different artificial insemination (AI) techniques and sperm doses on pregnancy rates of normal Hanoverian breed mares and mares with a history of barrenness or pregnancy failure using fresh or frozen-thawed sperm were investigated. The material included 187 normal mares (148 foaling and 39 young maiden mares) and 85 problem mares with abnormal reproductive history. Mares were randomly allotted into groups with respect to AI technique (routine AI into the uterine body, transrectally controlled deep intracornual AI ipsilateral to the preovulatory follicle, or hysteroscopic AI onto...
Effects of a new injectable short-term release deslorelin in foal-heat mares.
Theriogenology    July 15, 2004   Volume 62, Issue 5 831-836 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.12.004
Stich KL, Wendt KM, Blanchard TL, Brinsko SP.Mares treated with subcutaneous deslorelin implants on the first postpartum estrus early in the breeding season had significant reductions in the number of large follicles at early pregnancy examinations and delayed return to estrus (in mares that failed to become pregnant); these adverse effects were attributed to a prolonged release of the drug from the implant. In 2003, an injectable short-term release ( or = 34 mm diameter on Tuesdays or Thursdays were alternately assigned to: Treatment 1, n = 17; 1.5 mg injectable short-term release deslorelin, or Treatment 2, n = 16; Control (no treatmen...
Effect of L-carnitine administration on the seminal characteristics of oligoasthenospermic stallions.
Theriogenology    July 1, 2004   Volume 62, Issue 3-4 761-777 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.11.018
Stradaioli G, Sylla L, Zelli R, Chiodi P, Monaci M.The effect of orally administered l-carnitine on the quality of semen obtained from stallions with different semen qualities was investigated. Four stallions with proven fertility (high motility group, HM) and with normal seminal characteristics (>50% progressive motility and > 80 x 10(6) spermatozoa/ml), and four questionable breeders (low motility group, LM) with <50% of sperm progressive motility and < 80 x 10(6) spermatozoa/ml, received p.o. 20 g of l-carnitine for 60 days. Blood and semen samples were collected before treatment (T0) and after 30 (T1) and 60 days (T2). Semen ev...
Effect of ovary holding temperature and time on equine granulosa cell apoptosis, oocyte chromatin configuration and cumulus morphology.
Theriogenology    July 1, 2004   Volume 62, Issue 3-4 468-480 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.10.006
Pedersen HG, Watson ED, Telfer EE.The effects of ovary holding time and temperature on granulosa cell apoptosis, oocyte chromatin configuration and cumulus morphology were investigated through a series of experiments. Three experiments were performed to determine the effect of ovary holding time and temperature on granulosa cell apoptosis. Ovaries were held (1) at 20, 30 or 35-37 degrees C for up to 2h, (2) at 30 degrees C for 0-1, 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-6 or 6-10h, and (3) granulosa cells were held for 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 12 or 24h in M199 with Hank's salts at room temperature (suboptimal incubation). Granulosa cell DNA was analysed by ...
Germ cell apoptosis in the testes of normal stallions.
Theriogenology    May 26, 2004   Volume 62, Issue 1-2 283-297 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.10.022
Heninger NL, Staub C, Blanchard TL, Johnson L, Varner DD, Forrest DW.Apoptosis in testicular germ cells has been demonstrated in many mammalian species. However, little is known about the stallion (Equus caballus) and rates of apoptosis during spermatogenesis. Morphological and biochemical features of apoptosis reported in other species were used to confirm that the TdT-mediated dUTP Nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay is an acceptable method for identification and quantification of apoptotic germ cells in histological tissue sections from stallion testis. Seminiferous tubules from eight stallions with normal testis size and semen quality were evaluated according t...
Deslorelin on Day 8 or 12 postovulation does not luteinize follicles during an artificially maintained diestrous phase in the mare.
Theriogenology    May 26, 2004   Volume 62, Issue 1-2 57-64 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.07.024
Glazar BS, McCue PM, Bruemmer JE, Squires EL.Practical estrus synchronization schemes are needed for mares. The Ovsynch synchronization protocol for cattle involves the administration of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) to induce ovulation or luteinization of dominant follicles during the luteal phase and prostaglandin 7 days later to cause regression of any luteal tissue and development of a preovulatory follicle. An Ovsynch-type synchronization program potentially could be developed for horses if luteinization or ovulation of diestrous follicles occurred in response to GnRH treatment. The objective of this study was to determine i...
Estrous cycle characteristics, luteal function, secretion of oxytocin (OT) and plasma concentrations of 15-keto-13,14-dihydro-PGF2alpha (PGF2alpha-metabolite) after administration of low doses of prostaglandin F2alpha (PGF2alpha) in pony mares.
Theriogenology    March 24, 2004   Volume 61, Issue 7-8 1573-1582 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.09.005
Handler J, Wüstenhagen A, Schams D, Kindahl H, Aurich C.In the present study, the kinetics of the prostaglandin F2alpha (PGF2alpha)-metabolite 15-keto-13,14-dihydro-PGF2alpha after a single intramuscular application of various doses of the natural PGF2alpha dinoprost at Day 7 of the cycle in the mare were investigated. Effects of low doses on estrous cycle length and life span of corpus luteum were examined, because release of PGF2alpha is still under discussion to have detrimental influence on success rates of transcervical transfer of equine embryos. Eight Shetland pony mares were each randomly assigned to each of four treatments: (a) 0.8 mg/100 ...
In vitro maturation and transfer of equine oocytes after transport of ovaries at 12 or 22 degrees C.
Theriogenology    March 24, 2004   Volume 61, Issue 7-8 1215-1223 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.06.008
Preis KA, Carnevale EM, Coutinho da Silva MA, Caracciolo di Brienza V, Gomes GM, Maclellan LJ, Squires EL.Transportation of equine ovaries would allow shipment of oocytes for research purposes or transfer after the death of a valuable mare. The objective of this study was to compare two temperatures for maintaining ovaries during a transport interval of 18-24 h. The goal was to obtain pregnancies after transport of ovaries, maturation of oocytes in vitro, and transfer of oocytes. Each shipment was composed of ovaries four to seven mares collected from an abattoir. From each mare, one ovary was packaged at approximately 12 degrees C, and the other was packaged at approximately 22 degrees C. Upon ar...
Interrelationships of estradiol, inhibin, and gonadotropins during follicle deviation in pony mares.
Theriogenology    March 24, 2004   Volume 61, Issue 7-8 1395-1405 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.08.002
Donadeu FX, Ginther OJ.The changes in circulating concentrations of FSH, LH, estradiol, and total inhibin associated with the beginning of follicle diameter deviation were compared among the last anovulatory follicular wave of the year and the first and second ovulatory waves in pony mares ( n=7 ). Follicle diameters and circulating hormone concentrations for each wave were normalized to the observed beginning of deviation (Day 0). Follicle deviation was demonstrated during the anovulatory wave as well as during the ovulatory waves, and the diameter of the future dominant follicle at the beginning of deviation was s...
LH and testosterone responses to five doses of a GnRH analogue (buserelin acetate) in 12-month-old Thoroughbred colts.
Theriogenology    March 24, 2004   Volume 61, Issue 6 1051-1060 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.05.003
Brown-Douglas CG, Firth EC, Parkinson TJ, Fennessy PF.To determine the responsiveness of the pituitary-gonadal axis of peri-pubertal colts to GnRH, buserelin (0.5, 1, 5, 10 and 40 microg) was given to 13 male Thoroughbred yearlings ( n=3-8 colts per dose). Jugular venous blood samples were taken at -10, 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 120 and 180 min relative to buserelin administration. Increases (P < 0.05) in LH concentrations occurred in colts that received 5, 10, or 40 microg buserelin, but not in those that received 0.5 or 1 microg. Peak LH concentrations and mean area under the curve were higher (P < 0.05) in colts receiving 40 microg busereli...
The effect of exogenous estradiol benzoate and altrenogest on uterine and ovarian blood flow during the estrous cycle in mares.
Theriogenology    March 24, 2004   Volume 61, Issue 6 1137-1146 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.07.006
Bollwein H, Kolberg B, Stolla R.In recent years, a positive relationship between genital perfusion and fertility has been established; in species other than horses, uterine and ovarian perfusion was improved by exogenous estrogen but impaired by exogenous progestin. The goal of the present study was to investigate the effect of exogenous estrogen and progestin on uterine and ovarian blood flow in cycling mares. Five Trotter mares were examined daily during three estrous cycles. Mares were given no treatment, altrenogest (0.044 mg/kg BW) orally from Day 0 (ovulation) to Day 14 and estradiol benzoate (5mg i.m.) on Days 0, 5, a...
Identification and partial characterization of alpha-1,4-glucosidase activity in equine epididymal fluid.
Theriogenology    March 24, 2004   Volume 61, Issue 7-8 1545-1558 doi: 10.1016/j.theriogenology.2003.09.004
Dias AJ, Maia MS, Retamal CA, López ML.The expression of alpha-1,4-glucosidase activity was fluorometrically and electrophoretically assessed in the epididymal fluid and seminal plasma of stallions. alpha-Glucosidase specific activity in the epididymis increased significantly from the proximal caput to the cauda. Stallion epididymal glucosidase maintained activity in a wide range of pH, with two distinct peaks (around pH 4.0 and 6.0, respectively). Enzyme activities at different pH, inhibition assays with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and maltotriose (MTT, selective inhibitors of alpha-glucosidases "acidic" and "neutral" isoforms, d...

Theriogenology    February 6, 2004   Volume 61, Issue 5 921-932 doi: 10.1016/s0093-691x(03)00280-2
Moussa M, Tremoleda JL, Duchamp G, Bruyas JF, Colenbrander B, Bevers MM, Daels PF.The aim of this study was to evaluate the viability (percentage of dead cells) and the incidence of DNA fragmentation of horse embryos after storage in three different media at 5 degrees C for 6 and 24 h. Forty embryos were stored in Emcare Holding Solution for 6 and 24 h, in Hams'F10 or Vigro Holding Plus for 24 h at 5 degrees C (n = 9-10 per group) and 10 embryos were evaluated immediately after collection. First, embryos were stained, immediately after collection or following storage, to detect dead cells (DAPI) and, subsequently, DAPI-stained embryos were fixed and stained to detect DNA fr...
Retained placenta in Friesian mares: incidence, and potential risk factors with special emphasis on gestational length.
Theriogenology    February 6, 2004   Volume 61, Issue 5 851-859 doi: 10.1016/s0093-691x(03)00260-7
Sevinga M, Barkema HW, Stryhn H, Hesselink JW.During the foaling seasons of 1999 and 2000, the incidence of retained placenta in 495 normal parturitions of 436 Friesian brood mares was studied. Retained placenta was defined as a failure to expel all fetal membranes within 3 h of the delivery of the foal. Furthermore, the sex of the foal, month of breeding, sire and dam's sire, age of the mare, and time of day of foaling, were studied as factors that might be associated with retained placenta in Friesian mares after normal foalings, and with gestational length. The analysis was carried out using marginal logistic regression, and mixed line...
