The diffuse cellular infiltration in two of the case produced marked changes in the villous architecture reducing the available mucosal surface area, and, with lowered or barely detectable disaccharidase activities, contributed to the impairment of digestive-absorptive processes. Platt H.A series of 10 haemorrhagic polyps of the equine nasal cavity is described. The lesions show haematoma formation, abundant haemosiderin in macrophages and giant cells, and organising fibrous tissue. In one case, angiomatoid lesions were observed in the mucous membrane of the paranasal sinuses and it is suggested that some haemorrhagic nasal polyps may originate from pre-existing haemangiomatous areas in the respiratory mucosa.

The diagnosis of rabies in a horse by brain neutralization test. Tabel H, Charlton KM.A horse showing clinical signs of a neurological disorder was killed and various diagnostic tests for rabies were carried out. Histopathlogy revealed a nonsuppurative encephalitis. Fluorescent antibody test and mouse inoculation test were negative. A positive diagnosis of rabies was based on a high antibody titer (1:10,000) to rabies virus in brain tissue.
