Genome sequence of equine influenza virus isolated from horses in southeast Kazakhstan in 2020. An influenza virus strain, A/equine/Almaty/268/2020, was isolated from horses in southeast Kazakhstan in 2020. Here, we present the nearly complete genome sequence of this epidemic strain. This study was aimed at obtaining the complete genome sequence of the isolate.
Genome Sequence of the Attenuated Equid Alphaherpesvirus 1 Strain AK-2011, Isolated in Kazakhstan. In 2011, there was an outbreak of a disease with mass abortions among horses in southeastern Kazakhstan. The AK-2011 strain was isolated from an aborted fetus and subsequently identified as equid alphaherpesvirus 1. Here, we describe the nearly complete genome sequence of the AK-2011 strain, attenuated for vaccine development.
Mitochondrial Genomes of the American Dog Tick (Dermacentor variabilis) Isolated from Horses in the Midwestern United States. Here, we report two complete and three partial mitochondrial genome sequences of Dermacentor variabilis specimens collected from horses in the United States. The complete genomes are 14,837 bp long and contain 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, and 22 tRNA genes. The sequences have been deposited under GenBank accession numbers ON052120 to ON052124.
Genome Sequence of Equid Alphaherpesvirus 1 (EHV-1) from a Nasal Swab of a Swiss Horse Associated with a Major EHV-1 Outbreak following a Show Jumping Event in Valencia, Spain. We present the genome sequence of equid alphaherpesvirus 1 (EHV-1) sequenced directly from the nasal swab of a Swiss horse that attended an international equestrian event in Valencia, Spain, the origin of an outbreak of neurological disorders in horses in several European countries in February 2021.
Genome Sequences of Equine Herpesvirus 1 Strains from a European Outbreak of Neurological Disorders Linked to a Horse Gathering in Valencia, Spain, in 2021. Five equine herpesvirus 1 (EHV-1) genome sequences with links to an EHV-1 outbreak with neurological disorders after a horse gathering in Valencia, Spain, in February 2021, were determined. All strains showed the closest relationships to strains from Belgium and the United Kingdom, indicating a common source of infection.
Near-Complete Genome Sequences of Vesicular Stomatitis Virus Isolates from the 2020 Outbreak in Kansas. Here, we report the near-complete genome sequences of vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) serotype Indiana isolates from the 2020 U.S. outbreak. The sequences were obtained from swabs collected from Kansas horses in July and August. The four genome sequences help improve our understanding of VSV outbreak dynamics in the United States.
Complete Genome Sequences of Six Lactobacilli Isolated from American Quarter Horses. We report the complete circular genome sequences of six strains and their plasmids, if any, from the fecal material of quarter horses at different ages.
Whole-Genome Sequences of an Abortive Bacillus safensis Strain Isolated from a Mare’s Uterus. This is a report of two Bacillus safensis genomes sequenced from separate cultures isolated from the uterus of a 16-year-old Westphalian mare that aborted a dead fetus. This strain represents the first case of a B. safensis-associated equine abortion and the first case of infection caused by this bacterium.
Complete Genome Sequence of Mycoplasma felis Strain Myco-2, Isolated from an Equine Tracheal Wash Sample in Japan. causes conjunctivitis in cats and respiratory diseases in horses. We report here the complete genome assembly of equine strain Myco-2, which was isolated from an ill horse in Japan.
Complete Genome Sequence of Mycobacterium avium subsp. hominissuis Strain JP-H-1, Isolated from an Equine Abortion Case in Japan. Here, we describe the complete genome assembly of subsp. strain JP-H-1, collected from an equine abortion case in Japan. JP-H-1 has a 5,491,452-bp circular chromosome and 3 plasmids.
Complete Genome Sequence of Escherichia coli Podophage Penshu1. 4s is a Gram-negative bacterium found in the equine intestinal ecosystem alongside diverse other coliform bacteria and bacteriophages. This announcement describes the complete genome of the T7-like 4s podophage Penshu1. From its 39,263-bp genome, 54 protein-encoding genes and a 179-bp terminal repeat were predicted.
Complete Genome Sequence of an Equine Arteritis Virus Strain Isolated from a Lipizzaner Stallion in 2015 in Serbia. Here, we report the first whole-genome sequence of an equine arteritis virus (EAV) strain, RS1, isolated from the semen of a Lipizzaner stallion held in the Vojvodina region of Serbia.
First Complete Coding Sequence of a Venezuelan Equine Encephalitis Virus Strain Isolated from an Equine Encephalitis Case in Costa Rica. The first complete coding sequence of the Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus IE, isolated from a Costa Rican mare with severe encephalitis, was confirmed by histological and viral whole-genome analyses. The isolated virus grouped in the Pacific cluster.
Draft Genome Sequence of Taylorella equigenitalis Strain 210217RC10635, Isolated from a Pony Stallion in Germany. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Taylorella equigenitalis strain 210217RC10635, a Gram-negative bacterium belonging to the genus Taylorella and the order Burkholderiales. Taylorella equigenitalis is the causative agent of contagious equine metritis (CEM). The strain reported here was isolated in 2017 from a German stallion.
