The defect in the B-lymphocyte system was shown by hypogammaglobulinemia, lymphopenia, and absence of germinal centers. Evidence was obtained which suggested that epithelial gland cells within the endometrial cups, as distinct from the hypertrophied decidual-like cells in the cup, may synthesize PMSG.
