Biotin is a water-soluble B-vitamin, also known as Vitamin B7 or Vitamin H. It plays a key role in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, contributing to numerous physiological processes in the body.
In equine diets, Biotin is commonly included in feed or supplement formulations to support hoof integrity and coat health. Horses can synthesize some Biotin in the hindgut, but dietary supplementation may be beneficial for those with poor hoof quality or increased nutritional demands.
