Mason TA, Bourke JM.The careers of many Thoroughbred racehorses are marred or terminated prematurely by unsoundness which develop when racing as two year olds. Common problems are sore-shins, carpitis, splints, sesamoiditis, sesamoid fractures and sprained joints and tendons.
