Only 3 of the farms had a history of the occurrence of pneumonia caused by C. equi. One farm had experienced an outbreak in 5 out of 6 foals just before soil sampling. The geographical distribution of the seropositive horses was widespread throughout the agricultural area of the province. The geographical distribution and the cumulative increase in prevalence with age suggested that serotype pomona is enzootic in the equine population of Saskatchewan.
